WATSONVILLE - For over 30 years, members of the matching Pajaro Valley Quilt have mastered the craft and art of quilting, but they are always up to something new scholarship. This weekend, the association will hold its 32nd annual quilt show at the County Fair Santa Cruz, with a current monograph: "It's easy being green."
"Santa Cruz has a very traditional hardwood," said co-authority PVQA Iris Frank. "And part of the quilt was used to recycle and make quilts with what you have."
Hence the slogan 2010: "Reuse, Recycle, resurrected."
This year's show will feature nearly 400 quilts, all committed to environmental issues and concerns. The focus of the show will power the judge's Choice Grant, given by five leaders of the community recycling for their favorite "na quilt."
As each year PVQA invite an artist to speak of a distinct species of the quilt. This year will be an idiosyncrasy Allison Aller, Washington, DC, Quilter who was known for his bold quilting - sewing a specific cut roots in Victorian times - and teaches courses in political entity, said Frank.
